Welcome to my Fitness Blog

Hello..... I am a man from Dallas, Texas (smile when you say that). Born and bred third generation and damn proud of it! I moved to Abu Dhabi, UAE in the Middle East on September 25, 2010 to start working on a major hospital project in downtown Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. Reason for this move was to have an adventure, make more money and try to pay off the debt of 3 children's education at Texas A&M... WHOOP!

I am married to Joy, the most wonderful woman in the world. Been so since 1980 that is 30 plus years. She is my love, my life, my everything. I have 3 wonderful successful children Jessica, Chelsea and Gregory.

This blog is way over due -- I was going to start it last year recording my new adventures in a new world. But I got busy and did not start until today September 1, 2011. It will be a blog to record the adventures and quirks of Abu Dhabi. Plus the blog will be a new motivation to me to get back in shape after nearly a year of sedentary life style. Well another day in paradise just living the dream
Pot of coffee of course.
Went to help out Mom today.
Stopped at Whataburger got 2 sausage, egg, & cheese biscuit sandwiches without the biscuit.

Back at the house by 3:00.
Ate some chicken & tomatoes then hit the treadmill for 30 minutes.
Going to play Whirly Ball combination of bumper cars, Lacrosse, & basketball tonight with my brother David & a bunch of Brandon's friends (check him out if you need some real estate).
Even though just riding around in a bumper car. I actually worked into a sweat.










Talked with my brother David. Thats him in the black shirt fixing one the cars.
He is TRYING to lose weight & get in shape.
But you know what Yoda says about TRY "there is no try young skywalker there is only do or do not.
I think he is doing the Atkins thing. He says some nutrition professional's said you need to cheat every couple of weeks. But I do not think so. I will monitor his progress but cheating never works.
Exercise & eat right is the way to fitness period end of sentence.
My brother thinks this a challenge between us but it is definitely not.
I started 01.04.2010 to help myself feel better & be healthy.
Today was a pretty good day for the fatman. Feeling good, looking good, & smelling good !

After work 12:00 ish we do half a day Fridays.
P+W had a play day went to play broom hockey in Addison Square Garden Ice Skating Rink......free food, free beer, free broom hockey.
Which really sucks for me dieting means no booze (guiness) & or pizza. Ate some pizza anyway but pulled the stuff off & threw away the bread.

I am the one in the black jacket & the hat. I was so very cold. Do I need to buy some new pants? They are a little to loose on my skinnier bod.
First game pretty cool we won 4 to nuthin!
Second game lost 4 to nuthin. Ice got real slippery I fell on my backside a couple time & it was right on my open wound ouch!! Even bruised my right arm another OUCH!!!
But went home took a couple of hydrocodo & relaxed.

Still early watching ET ....... Kirstie Alley on with her new weight lost deal jeez another diet deal when will everybody learn.
Only one way to loss weight exercise, eat right, eat less period end of sentence.
Wow ........... how lucky are ya'll? An early post to the blog.

It is not weird diets, or anything else like that. It is however EATING GOOD FOOD (chicken, fish, & lean beef, fresh vegetables & EXERCISING every day.

Wow another week gone bye bye. Tomorrow TGIF you do agree right.
COFFEE .....to work walked the stairs of course.
Thursday that means donut day at the office. Bad hard to say NO. But I did say no to the donuts. Ate 3 kolaches took the bread off & ate just the little weiner mmm good.
Diana (lady at work) brought some briscket & roast beef in to share with everyone.
Ate that then walked the stairs during lunch 6 flights 3 times. 6 x 22 = 132 x 3 = 366 steps. I was a little tired. What a burn on the old legs.
Doctors appointment at 3:45 they said looking better lets remove the PICC line OMG I am so thankful. I was getting a little tired of the situation.
So Monday I can start doing the hand weights again.
Came home ate some chicken & spinach.
Think I need to stop writing this stuff & hit the treadmill for 30 minutes.

Up & at 'em this morning had some coffee then out the door.
Went to Glen Rose Texas about 1 1/2 hours south west straight down hwy 67. Went to OAC meeting at Glen Rose Regional Medical Center.
Had a pretty good steak (little dry) dinner salad & grilled asparagus for a late lunch.
Headed back to Dallas had a Doctors appointment at 3:45.
Home by 6:00.
Jessica made another good dinner especially for moi'. Salmon with mixed veggies & brocoli with cheese.
Got on the treadmill & studied for a ARE exam for nearly 2 hours.

Weighed in this morning 222.3
Had some coffee with a small piece of King cake. Then to work same old same old did the stairs BIG steps 3 at a time.
Back down stairs for lunch one at a time then back up.
Jessica made some excellent chicken soup even left out the corn & rice in my portion.
Sitting watching the Olympics need to move not just sit on my ....... backside.

Wow Monday again every week it comes back like a ...... life.
Coffee of course but aw no breakfast.
Stairs 144 steps all the way up.
Back down for lunch another 144. Went to the park read study walk for a little.
Few pieces of fruit very few.
Got home after visiting mom at Winters Park Nursing Home.
Great dinner chicken, squash, a little rice very little.
Watched Law Abiding Citizen and walked/ran in place lifted hand weights for nearly 2 hours.

Did not do jack!
Ate some eggs & cheese for breakfast went to Starbucks.
Wrong I did do jack..........
Helped Greg clean the gutters at Aunt Mary's house and that was a lot of working out.
So I think that counts.
Meet Chelsea at On the Border ate a chicken, cheese, bell peppers, & onion, fondue thing with no tortillas & no chips. Well actually I had 2 or 3 big chips but no more.
Back to the condo load up & head for home.
Joy drove home got there at 9:00ish.
Unpacked & went to bed so did a little not a lot.
